MILWAUKEE – The city of Milwaukee will begin the transition to a bi-weekly spring-to-fall recycling collection schedule across the city starting June 1, a statement from the Department of Public Works said Monday.
The winter collection schedule (December – March) will continue to be varied, allowing operations on snow.
All residents can find their new recycling schedules to download and their next waste and recyclable materials collection dates by visiting Milwaukee.gov/CollectionDay and entering their address.
Residents who wish to receive a hard copy of the schedule by mail can request it online at Milwaukee.gov/ClickForAction or by calling 414-286-CITY (2489).
The City of Milwaukee is asking residents to continue to do their part by placing only accepted materials in their carts, including bottles and glass jars; aluminum and steel boxes; cartons for food and drink; paper products (including newspapers and flattened cardboard); and plastic bottles and containers # 1, # 2 and # 5.
Recyclable materials should always be emptied in bulk into the recycling cart – no plastic bags, according to a statement.
